Bears coach Ben Johnson looked awfully sheepish when first presented with the Wieners Circle’s offer for another free hot dog day if he took his shirt off during a postgame celebration. He wasn’t feeling bashful at all Friday.
After watching his team stun the defending champion Eagles 24-15, Johnson was shown in the visiting locker room at Lincoln Financial Field shirtless and leading the charge.
Wieners Circle celebrated the occasion on X and announced the giveaway will be Tuesday.
The locker room footage was not available until after Johnson spoke to the media, so he did not comment on it, but it was clear he was riding high.
“These guys should feel pretty good about what they just did,” he said. “It’s hard to go on the road and beat a good team like that.”
Bears quarterback Caleb Williams said, “He did take his shirt off. He’s a man of the people, I’ll say that.”
When Wieners Circle made the offer last month, Johnson seemed unlikely, but left the door open.
“That’s been mentioned,” he said Oct. 24. “It’s a little disturbing. Why would we want to see that?”
Two months ago, Johnson wondered whether he would be healthy enough to play again this season.

The well known hot dog stand in Lincoln Park already had a giveaway in September after quarterback Caleb Williams threw four touchdown passes.

Running the ball down the champs’ throats is worth has to be worth at least one A-plus, does it not?
