The Bay Area woman killed in a Thanksgiving crash near Echo Summit has been identified as Peggy Liu, 50, of Fremont, the California Highway Patrol said.

Liu was a passenger in a Toyota SUV that was westbound on Highway 50 around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 28. That vehicle, driven by a 28-year-old man, reportedly crossed into the other lane and collided with an eastbound Chevrolet SUV.
The Chevrolet’s driver was also killed. He was identified as Donald Smith, 84, of Wellington, Nev.
The Toyota’s driver suffered major injuries, and three other passengers in his vehicle, all adults, had moderate injuries, the CHP said.
The crash site was near Audrain Way, about 6 miles west of Meyers.
