What happens if your parcel arrives late?

Even if you plan accordingly, there is inevitably a risk that a delivery arrives later than expected.

But consumer rights mean there should be a course of action if the timing doesn’t go as planned.

If a delivery does not come on time, you should have the right to cancel an order within 14 calendar days and get a full refund, according to Money Saving Expert.

This could include returning the item, so it may be better to keep the parcel and ask for compensation, such as claiming for the inconvenience or time taken off work.

If something is not delivered at all, you should ask the courier to find out what has happened to the order as that is their responsibility.

If the seller claims it has been delivered or they don’t know where it is, ask for redelivery or a refund, says Citizens Advice.
