Live music and dancing highlighted a festive, bi-cultural gathering for St. Patrick’s Day in San Pedro this weekend — with the Irish and Italian communities combining for a colorful mix of sites, sounds, tastes and overall revelry.
The St. Patrick’s Day celebration — dubbed Gaelic & Garlic — took place in San Pedro’s Little Italy district on Saturday evening, March 18, and featured plenty of green, from Irish dancers and corned beef to shamrock cookies.
But there was also an Italian Elvis, spaghetti and meatballs, and cannoli. The area’s new council member, Tim McOsker, has deep Irish roots in a town that also is home to many Italians.
