A little girl has died and another child was injured after a collision on the A12 in Essex.
A tragedy struck on the A12 near Colchester yesterday when a car crashed with a lorry on the northbound carriageway.
The road was closed for hours as the emergency services tried to save the girl following the smash at about 10.30am.
She was treated at the scene, but succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
A second child suffered a leg injury and was taken to a hospital.

No arrests have been made at this stage, and the HGV driver passed all roadside tests, Essex Police confirmed.
Detective Inspector Mark Fraser said: ‘First and foremost, my thoughts are very much with this young child’s family and wider loved ones. We have specialist officers in place with them to ensure they are given as much support as possible.
‘Our investigation is progressing and we will be interviewing a driver of a lorry in the coming days.
‘Incidents such as this are clearly sensitive and complex and we are committed to fully understanding the circumstances around what happened yesterday.
‘If you have any information, dash cam or footage of any kind which you have not yet shared with us, please get in touch.’
The A12 was closed for hours at junction J28 near the service station while an air ambulance landed on the road.
