Gunmen open fire at CTA bus stop, hitting woman in chest in Chicago Lawn

Police are looking for three assailants who opened fire on a crowd waiting for a bus, hitting a woman late Monday on the Southwest Side.

Around 11:50 p.m., the 54-year-old woman was seated among group at the stop in the 2800 block of West 63rd Street when three gunmen left a red SUV and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The woman was shot in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she was in fair condition, police said.

No other injuries were reported and the attackers fled in the red SUV and were not in custody.

Area 1 detectives are investigating.
