High school football: Updates from Friday night’s top games

We know that high school football fans live for these Friday nights when there is a big game happening under the stadium lights.

That’s why the Southern California News Group has put together the biggest team of reporters in the area, so that fans get more of what they love — score updates, highlights, breaking news, game stories, videos and photos.

It’s a hot one throughout Southern California and it’s about to get hotter on the football field tonight with big games like Mater Dei vs. Bishop Gorman in Orange County, Redondo vs. Mira Costa in the South Bay, Downey vs. Millikan in the Long Beach area, Servite vs. Chaminade in the Daily News area and St. Paul vs. Damien in the San Gabriel Valley.

Our “Friday Night Football” host John W. Davis will keep you on top of all of the great action. He will be here for the pregame, throughout the games and then wrapping things up at the end of the night with a special video.

Go to a game and we’ll provide the updates and highlights on your mobile device. Stay home and follow the action with us on your laptop.

The countdown to kickoff has started … who’s ready?

Will the high school football national championship be decided Friday night in Santa Ana?

All eyes are on the Mater Dei vs. Bishop Gorman matchup, which is my Game of the Week.
