Homer Glen home invasion suspect in custody; shelter in place lifted

A standoff with Homer Glen home invasion suspect was taken into custody late Tuesday and a shelter in place order has been lifted, according to Darien police.

The shelter in place was lifted around 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Will County sheriff’s office.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Sequoia Drive shortly after 2 p.m. for a report of a home invasion and saw a suspect flee in a vehicle, police said. They chased him to the Bell Road and 143rd Street in Homer Glen, where he barricaded himself into a residence.

One victim was hospitalized with “non-life threatening injuries” and has since been released, police said.
