The Disney Princess concert that was a “surprise” to Disneyland visitors last year will be a daylong marathon for anyone who wants to catch the nighttime show being recorded for television this year at Disney California Adventure.
The “Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration” will be recorded on Thursday, Aug. 13 during a pair of live shows at 8:30 and 9:45 p.m. in the World of Color viewing area at Disney California Adventure.

The multi-step process to gaining admission to the twin Disney Princess concerts at DCA will require a mix of luck, speed, determination and patience.
1) You’ll need a Disney California Adventure reservation or Disneyland reservation on a parkhopper ticket or with a Magic Key annual pass.
Theme park reservations are currently available for daily tickets and annual passes, but that could change as Thursday approaches.
2) A virtual queue for the Disney Princess concerts will open at noon on Aug. 13 via the Disneyland app. This will be where luck and speed come into play.
You’ll need to have quick fingers and a robust WiFi connection to snag an admittance group to one of the two concerts via the Disneyland app.
Disneyland has already warned virtual queue admittance groups will be “extremely limited and available while supplies last.”
Translation: Expect the Disney Princess concert admittance groups to disappear quickly. Possibly in a second or two after the clock strikes high noon.
You can join the virtual queue from DCA or Disneyland. But that only means you will be competing against two parks full of people. Including all the D23 fans in town for the convention.
3) Wait for a push notification to head over to the Hyperion Theater courtyard between 4 and 6 p.m. on Aug. 13.
You’ll need to scan in your ticket or entry code when you arrive.
4) Sign a filming release form from the Disney production crew that will be photographing, filming and recording the show.
The concert will be recorded for release on ABC, Disney Channel, Freeform and the Disney+ streaming service.
5) Pick up a wristband that will provide access to the World of Color viewing area for the concert.
Your wristband will likely have the time of the show that you will be attending. You almost certainly will not get to pick which show you want to see or attend both shows.
Disneyland is already warning fans not to sell their wristbands or trade them for anything of cash value.
6) You’ll likely be instructed to arrive early for the shows so there is plenty of time to load in the audience to the massive World of Color viewing area.
Your patience and determination will be paid off with a one-of-a-kind show with lights, projections and fountains billed as “the largest gathering of Disney Princess talent ever assembled.”
It might be hard to get in front of the stage for the concert if you’re not a Disney Princess “Superfan.”
The 1iota Productions audience casting agency is seeking “Superfans” for the Disney Princess concert at Disney California Adventure.
You can always watch the show Sunday, Aug. 16 on television if you don’t get into the virtual queue — or don’t have the endurance required to participate in the Disney Princess concert marathon.
Disneyland tried to keep last year’s Disney Princesses concert a “surprise,” but it quickly leaked out onto social media after a stage appeared in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
A film crew recorded the 12-minute show twice during back-to-back performances in 2025 that started 30 minutes before park closing.
The August 2025 concert featured Auli’i Cravalho (voice of Moana in 2016’s “Moana”), Anika Noni Rose (voice of Tiana in 2009’s “The Princess and the Frog”), Paige O’Hara (voice of Belle from 1991’s “Beauty and the Beast”) and Jodi Benson (voice of Ariel from 1989’s “The Little Mermaid”).
The concert was hosted by two other Disney voice actresses —Ginnifer Goodwin (voice of Judy Hopps in 2016’s “Zootopia” and Snow White in the “Once Upon a Time” TV series) and Susan Egan (voice of Megara in 1997’s “Hercules” and Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway).

While Disneyland has not yet announced the lineup of talent for the Disney Princess concert, Egan, Benson and O’Hara will be in town on Aug. 13 for the D23 fan event at the Anaheim Convention Center.
