Jane’s Addiction has canceled its Oct. 2 concert at the Fillmore Auditorium in the wake of a dramatic onstage fight last week.
Refunds for the band’s Denver show — as well as all dates on the now-canceled tour — will be available at the point of purchase, the band wrote on its social media accounts.
“The band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group,” members posted on Instagram Monday morning. “As such they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour.”
Fan videos show singer Perry Farrell yelling at then lunging at guitarist Dave Navarro on stage during a concert in Boston on Friday. Farrell then takes a swing, after which onstage personnel jump in to break up the melee.
Farrell, who founded the Lollapalooza music festival, was later said to have been upset that his vocals were getting lost in the band’s overall volume.
“Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night,” Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau, wrote in an Instagram post afterward. “He felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band.”
The band’s “Imminent Redemption” reunion tour started in early August and had 15 dates left, including a show in Connecticut on Sunday night that was also canceled, according to the Associated Press.
