The Daily News’ All-Area boys volleyball team for 2026:
ALL-AREA BOYS VOLLEYBALL
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Noa Beauregard, Chatsworth, Senior
Noa Beauregard was the Daily News’ Offensive Player of the Year last season. This season the opposite hitter led the Chancellors to the City Open Division title and he was selected player of the year in the Open Division. He also earned his second West Valley League MVP honor. He totaled 551 kills, 61 blocks, 47 aces and 103 digs. Beauregard ended his high school volleyball career as a three-time City Open Division champion.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Noah Duffield, Burroughs, Junior
Noah Duffield’s game took a big step forward in 2026 and it paid dividends for Burroughs. The outside hitter totaled well over 400 kills, including 125 in league play where he earned the Pacific League MVP honor. The Stanford commit had 50 digs, 13 aces and seven blocks as he led Burroughs to the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
RJ Francisco, Granada Hills Charter, Senior
Longtime Granada Hills coach Tom Harp said RJ Francisco is the best hitting middle he has ever coached. Francisco was sensational on defense too, with 101 blocks on top of 306 kills with just 50 errors.
ALL-AREA TEAM
Donnie Flemming, Royal, Jr., outside hitter: Flemming had 249 kills, 34 aces and a 2.25 passer rating. He was an All-Coastal Canyon League selection.
Bennett Julian, Westlake, Sr., outside hitter: The 6-foot-7 Julian was the Marmonte League MVP. He tallied 307 kills, 201 digs, 41 aces and 23 blocks.
Grant Chang, Chatsworth, Sr., middle blocker: Chang was first team All-City and was a three-time City champion. The MIT commit had 397 kills, 59 blocks, 64 digs and 21 aces.
Stanley Filiaga, Camarillo, Sr., outside hitter: The 6-foot-5 Filaga was the Coastal Canyon League MVP. He totaled 441 kills, 187 digs, 53 aces and 34 blocks.
George Bergstrom, Crespi, Sr., setter: Bergstrom helped the Celts end a CIF-SS playoff drought that went back to 2011. He was an All-Mission League selection.
Jack Smolarski, Agoura, Sr., outside hitter: Smolarski had 286 kills, 142 digs, 36 solo blocks along with a 2.23 passer rating. He was first-team All-Marmonte League.
Dylan Murphy, Valencia, Sr., outside hitter: Murphy was All-CIF and the Foothill League player of the year.
Miguel Mora, Valley Academy of Arts and Sciences, Sr., outside hitter: Mora’s big swing helped lead VAAS to a league title and the City quarterfinals.
Desmond Eng, Taft, Jr., middle blocker: Eng racked up 540 kills while leading the Toreadors to the LA City Division I championship. He was the City Division I player of the year and first team All-West Valley League.
Stephen Choi, West Ranch, Sr., setter: Choi averaged 22 assists and eight digs per match. He was first-team, All-Foothill League.
Tyler Clark, Sylmar, Sr., outside hitter: Clark was the Valley Mission League MVP. He guided the Spartans to the league title and to the City Division I semifinals.
Shawn Meza, Granada Hills Charter, Sr., setter: Meza had 1,001 assists, 143 digs and 35 service aces. He was All-West Valley League.
Alex Kazaryan, Village Christian, Jr., outside hitter: Kazaryan had 353 kills, 246 digs, 42 blocks and 29 aces. He was All-CIF-SS Division 4.
Joshua Lane, Saugus, Sr., opposite hitter: The 6-foot-8 Lane tallied 336 kills while hitting .297 along with 22 aces, 121 digs and 32 blocks.
Micah Park, Royal, Jr., setter: 596 assists for the all-CIF and first team all-Coastal Canyon League setter.
Grant Herzer, Royal, Jr., outside hitter: Herzer had 215 kills and 28 aces. He earned first-team All-Coastal Canyon League and All-CIF honors.
Evan Haytayan, Crescenta Valley, Jr., outside hitter: The 6-foot-5 Haytayan moved from middle to the outside this year and towered over opposing blocks. The junior totaled 338 kills while hitting .252. He earned first-team All-Pacific League honors.
Riley Brinton, Burroughs, So., setter: Brinton totaled 275 assists in league play.
