Power went out for about 31,000 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers Saturday afternoon, Nov. 8 in an outage that was fixed in about an hour.
The outage, reported at 12:55 p.m., affected Mid-Wilshire, Mid-City, Arlington and Koreatown, department spokesperson Lourdes Rodriguez said.
Crews started restoring power around 1:30 and the lights were back on for everyone affected, she added.
But it wasn’t before the Los Angeles Fire Department received nearly 60 calls for people stuck in elevators since 1 p.m., due to the power outage, department spokesperson Margaret Stewart said.
The cause of the outage was under investigation.
