At the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Orion Avenue, sits Socal Wholesale Flowers and Supply. With a building of 24,000 square feet, the wholesale flower shop is one of the biggest in the San Fernando Valley.

The owner Herbert Francisco Rodriguez first started selling flowers sixteen years ago, and opened up his own business in 2015.

“It’s something I never thought I would be doing, and I love it so much,” he said. “To put a smile on people’s face when they see flowers makes me happy.”

Socal Wholesale Flowers and Supply, which serves over 300 flower shops in the Valley and Greater LA area, sources flowers from all over the world: from Mexico, Colombia, andEcuador to Holland and Thailand.

The shop is gearing up for Mother’s Day, a holiday that Rodriguez says he “lives on.” He and his workers start working at midnight until 10 at night, and do it all over again the nextday.

“It’s crazy how crowded it gets. It’s just a great holiday, for our beloved mothers,” he added. The shop sells a colorful variety of common and exotic flowers, and is open to the publicfor viewing and shopping.
