A UK supermarket is recalling four types of its fruit and nut bars over fears they could contain pieces of plastic.
Lidl GB is recalling its Alesto Raw Fruit and Nut Bars in the Cocoa and Orange, Blueberry Muffin, Salted Caramel and Berry varieties.
The recall impacts five-packs of the 35g bars, with two sets of best before dates.
It includes all stock with the best before date of December 2025 with batch code L24337, and packs with the best before date of November 2025 with batch code L24316.
Lidl says no other Alesto products in its UK stores are affected by the recall.
A spokesperson for the supermarket said: ‘Lidl GB is recalling the above mentioned product due to the potential presence of plastic foreign bodies which may present a choking hazard.
‘If you have bought the above product we advise you not to eat it.
‘Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store where a full refund will be given.
‘We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation.’
In other recent recall news, SPAR has been forced to recall a number of chicken products over ‘diarrhoea and meningitis’ fears.
Tesco has recalled a popular cheese product over fears it could contain deadly bacteria, while elsewhere thousands of crisp packets were urgently recalled due to concerns customers could develop ‘swelling and hives’.
