It’s the TV show that won’t die. Thousands of fans of “Little House on the Prairie,” which ran from 1974 to 1983, keep it alive, not only by watching reruns, but also by attending reunions. And the next one’s in Simi Valley.
The weekend of Dec. 12 to 14, there’s a three-day “Little House on the Prairie” cast reunion planned at Strathearn Historical Park.
Exteriors for the show were filmed at the Big Sky Movie Ranch in Simi Valley, though the sets no longer exist. Numerous recurring cast members plan to attend, although Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura Ingalls, is not among them. Michael Landon, who played Pa, died of cancer in 1991.
For this holiday edition, there will be cast meet-and-greets, photo opportunities, Santa visits, tree trimming, stuff to buy and a tour of the historic property. Prices start at $59.
The TV show was based on a semi-autobiographical series of books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder about her experiences growing up in a pioneer family.
