Littleton middle school teacher arrested on charges of child sex assault

A Littleton man who taught at a Douglas County School District middle school was arrested Monday and charged with child sex assault, according to the sheriff’s office.

David Feil, 49, was arrested Monday on a warrant for two counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, a Class 3 felony, according to court records.

Feil was hired by the Douglas County School District in 2014 and most recently worked as a sixth-grade teacher at Roxborough Intermediate School south of Littleton, sheriff’s officials said in a news release Tuesday.

According to court records, the assault occurred on Aug. 1, 2021. It’s unclear if Feil worked at Roxborough or another school at that time.

The 49-year-old is being held in the Douglas County Detention Facility on a $50,000 cash or surety bond, according to court records. He has not yet posted bail and is next scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court for a hearing on June 6, court records show.
