Macaulay Culkin coming to Bay Area for “Home Alone” anniversary screenings

Calling all filthy animals: Macaulay Culkin has a Christmas gift for you, and it’s coming early.

Culkin is coming to the Bay Area to celebrate the 35th anniversary of “Home Alone” and will be screening the films at the San Jose Civic Theatre on Nov. 23 and The Paramount in Oakland on Nov. 24.

The screening will also feature a moderated interview and audience Q&A in which he plans to share his favorite stories from filming.

The former child star grew to international fame as “Kevin McCallister” in 1990, when he was nominated for a Golden Globe at just 10 years old. He followed it up with “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” in 1992, but two three years later he took an acting hiatus at age 14.

After nearly a decade away, he returned to the screen in 2003, but a year later was arrested on drug charges and, in 2005, pled guilty in an Oklahoma City courtroom to misdemeanor charges of possession of medication without a prescription and marijuana.

Culkin, now 45, has been working regularly as an actor and comedian since then. His television credits include “American Horror Story,” “The Righteous Gemstones,” “Kings” and “Robot Chicken.”

He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year.

Details: Tickets start at $61 and can be found at homealonetour.com.
