Man accused of fatally stabbing woman in Little Village

A Chicago man was charged with fatally stabbing a woman Tuesday in a Little Village apartment.

David Wilcox, 59, was arrested minutes after the attack and charged with first degree murder, Chicago police said.

Officers found Wilcox and the woman when they responded to a report of a person stabbed around 11:35 p.m. in the 2500 block of South Christiana Avenue., police said.

The 61-year-old woman, who hasn’t yet been identified, suffered multiple puncture wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

At least one steak knife was recovered at the scene, according to a police report, which also stated that the man attacked the woman before stabbing himself.

Wilcox made news in 2016, a day after the Presidential election when he was pulled from a vehicle on the city’s West Side as attackers allegedly yelled ‘You voted Trump?’

Court records show that Wilcox was accused of murder in 1986, a charge that was later changed to manslaughter.

Court information for Wilcox wasn’t immediately available.
