Man claiming to have 6 guns is arrested outside Apple Store in Pasadena

A man who opened two gun cases and claimed to have six firearms while standing outside the Apple Store in Pasadena was arrested Friday — an incident witnessed by a local TV news crew.

The incident unfolded around 9:20 a.m. in front of 54 W. Colorado Blvd., near Fair Oaks Avenue, according to Pasadena police spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.

A KTLA news crew happened to be at the scene and captured the encounter on camera.

The man appeared to be speaking with a police dispatcher about a custody dispute before officers arrived and wrestled him to the ground, the station reported.

The man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and none of the guns were loaded, according to KTLA.

Police said officers acted quickly and that an investigation was ongoing.
