A 66-year-old man will spend the rest of his life in prison after fatally shooting another man in Denver two years ago, according to court records.
A Denver jury convicted Anthony Huff on Thursday of first-degree murder in the July 2023 shooting of 46-year-old Anthony Mingo, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
The two men had been in an argument leading up to the shooting in the 1700 block of West Mosier Place, police said. Paramedics took Mingo to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Following Thursday’s conviction, Denver District Court Judge Jay Sutherland Grant sentenced Huff to life in prison without the possibility of parole, court records show.
That’s the mandatory sentence in Colorado for first-degree murder.
