Man killed in Sherman Oaks hit-and-run, driver is sought

A man was killed early Sunday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Sherman Oaks, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 12:05 a.m. on Van Nuys Boulevard, where the pedestrian was found lying on the roadway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said the vehicle, described as a black Tesla Model Y, was traveling southbound when it struck the man and fled the scene without the driver stopping or providing aid.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was described as 62 years old and from Ventura County. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.
