OAKLAND — A man was shot late Tuesday morning in East Oakland, authorities said.
The condition of the man, believed to be in his 20s, was not immediately available.
The shooting happened about 11 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of 10th Avenue near E Street and prompted the activation of a gunshot detection alert system, authorities said.
The man was found outside suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital.
Police were trying to determine a motive for the shooting and investigating whether the man was shot by someone who confronted him on the street or fired at him from a passing vehicle.
A part of 105th Avenue was shut down to pedestrian and vehicular traffic while police investigated.
