Man stabbed, critically wounded on West Side

Police are looking for the assailant responsible for slicing the neck of a man Wednesday morning, critically injuring him during an argument in the city’s Austin neighborhood.

The man, 51, was outside in the 100 block of South Mason Avenue around 7:50 a.m. when he was approached by someone he knew and an argument started, Chicago police said.

The man was stabbed in the neck and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in critical condition, police said.

Area 4 detectives were investigating.
