Gary Neville believes Manchester United will win the Premier League again before Liverpool.

Neville has regularly critiqued the Anfield club, notably last season when he claimed they should sacrifice the Champions League for a push at the title.

The Reds failed to end a 29-year domestic drought in the previous campaign when they were pipped by reigning champions Manchester City by one point.

But Neville has now claimed that his former club United are better placed to lift the title again than Jurgen Klopp’s side despite recording a fifth-place finish.

The England defender turned Sky Sports pundit is also adamant that Mohamed Salah will leave the reignng European champions in the next 12 months.

“They’ll [United] get a great manager, hopefully that’s Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer], and they will start to win again,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“That’s going to happen. I can guarantee you as clear as day, Manchester United will win again.

“They will win again, no problem, they will win the league. They will probably win the league before Liverpool, in my opinion.

“And that’s not being disrespectful… they will probably win the league before Liverpool.

“I think they will win the league before Liverpool. They are closer than you think and it’s not as bad as you think, that’s always the way it is.

“And Liverpool… Salah’s going to leave in the next 12 months, I can see it already. Salah will leave, he will, I’ll absolutely guarantee you.

“I can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it…”
