Man wins £325,000,000 payout after ‘invasive’ injections ruined his penis

A New Mexico man has received what is thought to be the largest medical malpractice payout in history after doctors botched a series of penile injections.

The unnamed patient will receive over $412,000,000 (£3.25M) from NuMale Medical Centre after a series of ‘invasive erectile dysfunction shots’ caused him irreversible harm.

Jurors in New Mexico came to the decision to award him record damages after agreeing the 70-year-old claimant was a victim of fraud.

In 2017, the then 66-year-old visited a clinic in Wyoming in search of help for fatigue and weight loss.

Instead, the clinic, which claims to provide ‘compassionate care with cutting-edge treatments for Erectile Dysfunction, Testosterone Replacement Therapy, Premature Ejaculation, and Hair Restoration,’ was accused of misdiagnosing him and unnecessarily giving him the ‘invasive erectile dysfunction shots’.

Attorneys claimed the client went through multiple rounds of medication and procedures before undergoing surgery by an unqualified physician assistant.

‘This corporate scheme manipulates and uses fear as a tactic to convince these men to do this,’ trial lawyer Nick Rowley told KRQE News 13.

In a statement, the attorneys said the unprecedented verdict sends a powerful message that ‘medical providers cannot prioritize profits over patients’ well-being without being held accountable.’

Lori Bencoe, one of the man’s attorneys, added: ‘It [the damages] is a national record setting case and it’s righteous because I don’t think there’s any place for licensed professionals to be defrauding patients for money.

‘That is a very egregious breach of their fiduciary duty.

‘That’s a breach of trust and anytime someone is wearing a white coat, they shouldn’t be allowed to do that.’

In a statement, NuMale Medical said its priority was delivering patient care, adding: ‘While we respect the judicial process, due to ongoing legal proceedings, we cannot comment on specific details of the case at this time.’
