U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who has been called a traitor by the President of the United States, has accused conservative CNN political pundit Scott Jennings of lying about her. Jennings, stretching the story of Greene’s recent conflicts with the MAGA orthodoxy, said Greene “became a lib this year.”
Greene defended herself by writing on social media: “I have a 98% voting record with Trump so I guess Scott is calling Trump liberal too. Scott Jennings is everything America First voted against, he just fools people with hot takes.”

Greene added: “I’m being attacked by many in the establishment Republican Party, the consulting class, and their paid shills because I outflank them all on the right, I’m controlled by no one, and they’re threatened by that. I’m more conservative than they are and my voting record proves it. I’m unapologetically America FIRST and my voting record proves it, and they are neocon warmongering globalists and their record proves it.
“Trump called me a traitor because I stood with women, who were raped as teenagers and trafficked by Epstein, and I refused to do his bidding and take my name off the Epstein discharge petition to release the files. Greene added: “I’ve never voted to fund any foreign wars and I can criticize any government in the world and you can too, our First Amendment gives us that right. Criticizing a governments [sic] actions does not make you guilty of hating anyone or any people group. And those labels are being thrown around to intimidate you and to try to silence you. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t be silent. YOU are the taxpayers, which makes YOU and YOUR voice the most powerful there is. When it comes to how YOUR hard earned money is being spent, whether it’s fraud to fake scams or NGOs or funding foreign wars that are killing children, YOU, the American people, are the ONLY ONES who can stop it!!!”
Greene hit X with her thoughts after being the subject of a long profile in the New York Times, written by veteran political reporter Robert Draper, in which she targeted Trump’s religious faith, comparing his comments at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service with those of Kirk’s widow Erika.
“It just shows where his heart is,” Greene said. “And that’s the difference, with her having a sincere Christian faith, and proves that he does not have any faith.”
On X, Greene appealed directly to MAGA voters: “And most importantly, if you voted for Trump and Republicans and they are still funding ridiculous fraud and garbage and foreign wars that have nothing to do with your life, then SPEAK UP! You hired these people. You are not in a cult.”
More than one MAGA voter criticized Greene for retiring from her congressional seat in January 2026. One commenter wrote: “Unfortunately Marjorie….what you say may be true, but your actions (quitting) don’t show you believe what you’re saying, which makes you sound like every other politician.”
