On Juneteenth 2025, President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social: “Too many non-working holidays in America. It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed. The workers don’t want it either! Soon we’ll end up having a holiday for every once [sic] working day of the year. It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICAN GREAT AGAIN!”
[NOTE: In 2021, President Joe Biden signed a law making Juneteenth a federal holiday to be observed every year on June 19, commemorating the end of slavery.]
The U.S. House will be in session only 4 full days from July 24th to November 8th.
That’s 100 paid days off versus 4 full workings days plus 4 travel (half) days.

On Thursday, U.S. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) amplified Trump’s 2025 holiday complaint and added, “The U.S. House will be in session only 4 full days from July 24th to November 8th. That’s 100 paid days off versus 4 full workings [sic] days plus 4 travel (half) days. Meanwhile TRUMP says YOU have too many holidays.”
A couple days ago, Mike Johnson mocked Thomas Massie for suggesting House leadership could keep Congress out to avoid the new Epstein Files Transparency Act, calling the idea “stupid” and “nonsensical.”
Now he has canceled the final two weeks of September.…
