A 33-year-old man driving a motorcycle was killed when he ran a red light and hit a car early Friday on the Northwest Side, police said.
The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 4400 block of North Cumberland Avenue when the southbound motorcycle driver hit an eastbound Toyota Prius in an intersection, Chicago police said.
The unidentified motorcyclist was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Prius, a 31-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Resurrection Hospital in fair condition.
The Chicago Police Department’s major accidents investigation unit was investigating.
