LIVERMORE — A 47-year-old motorcyclist died Monday morning after colliding with a vehicle, authorities said.
The coroner’s bureau identified him as Richard Sajor Jr. A place of residence for him had not been confirmed.
The collision happened about 3:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Paseo Laguna Seco and Portola Avenue, police said.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that a 61-year-old Livermore resident was driving southbound on Paseo Laguna Seco and made a left turn onto Portola Avenue. At the same time, the motorcyclist was riding westbound on Portola Avenue, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Sajor was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The vehicle driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Both directions of Portola Avenue and Paseo Laguna Seco were temporarily closed while officers investigated. Traffic was rerouted through nearby neighborhoods.
