HURRICANE — A 24-year-old man was killed in a crash Thursday after losing control of his motorcycle, police said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was driving with a 17-year-old passenger when he lost control for unknown reasons and crashed into a pickup truck, according to officer Ken Thompson with Hurricane police.

The crash happened about 4 p.m. around 250 N. Old Highway 91.

The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike and declared dead at the scene. The 17-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries, but was awake and talking to first responders, Thompson said.

Both people on the motorcycle were wearing helmets, but the impact caused the driver’s helmet to come off.

Nobody in the pickup truck was injured, Thompson said.
