Murals to be auctioned to aid EB patients

International artist Kyle Holbrook and DEBRA of America unveiled two new “collaborative” murals at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott on Wednesday.

Images of the artwork, painted at the  DEBRA of America National Conference, will be auctioned to benefit the organization.

DEBRA is a national nonprofit effort dedicated to improving the lives of people with  Epidermolysis Bullosa.

EB is a rare connective tissue disorder with many genetic and symptomatic variations, according to the organization’s website. All forms share the prominent symptom of extremely fragile skin that blisters and tears with any friction, organizers said.

Just like a butterfly’s delicate wings, EB patients’ skin is delicate and requires consistent care and protection.

DEBRA campaigns often feature community members and “EB Heroes” posing in front of butterfly wing murals to raise awareness.
