The alleged driver was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the parking lot on the north side of Solano Town Center, a police report said.
Witnesses reportedly told police that a white Dodge pickup truck struck a man, stopped, then came back and struck the victim at least once more before driving away.
One witness followed the truck while calling 911, and police officers pulled over the suspect in the 800 block of East Tabor Avenue, about 2½ miles from the mall.
The truck’s driver, a 25-year-old Fairfield man, was “known to officers due to previous mental health calls,” the police said. He was taken into custody without incident, they said.
The victim’s name has not been released.
