Mystery over woman, 56, who vanished climbing into red car nine days ago as CCTV shows final movements

POLICE are hunting a woman who vanished nine days ago after climbing into a red car.

Alice was last seen in Chapeltown area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, on October 29.

CCTV showed the 56-year-old walking down the street with a chequered shawl covering her shoulders.

Alice then clambered into a red-coloured Smart Roadster-type car and has not been seen since.

South Yorkshire Police has now launched a search for the missing woman.

Officers said she is described as 5ft 6ins tall, white, is of a slim build and has shoulder length mousey-blonde hair.

Alice normally wears glasses and was last seen in the red, black and beige shawl, black leggings and black ankle boots.

Police have released an image of the car in the hope someone may recognise it and come forward.

A spokesperson said: “We are appealing for your help to find missing Sheffield woman Alison.

“Alison, aged 56, was last seen on Warren Lane in the Chapeltown area on 29 October.

“Officers are concerned for Alison’s welfare and are asking anyone who may have information regarding where he might be to come forward.”

Anyone with information has been asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 367 of 27 October 2024.
