A 17-story apartment building in New York City partially collapsed after a gas explosion.

The blast occurred at YCHA’s Mitchel Houses on Alexander Avenue in the Bronx shortly before 8am today.

An incinerator shaft attached to the complex fell and the rest of the structure remained intact, according to the New York Fire Department.

No one was injured and there was no damage reported to any of the apartments, said the department.

The structure appeared to be stable but is being examined by the Department of Buildings.

Two K-9s searched rubble and debris and did not find signs of anyone trapped.
