New York-style slices from an acclaimed pizzeria come to Woodland Hills with the opening of Danny Boy’s Famous Original.
The third location of Danny Boy’s Famous Original, which opened in late June, is at 20929 Ventura Blvd., inside Valley Country Market. Other locations are in Westwood and downtown Los Angeles.
Run by industry veteran Daniel Holzman, who was inspired by the slice joints he ate at growing up in New York, the eatery will feature New York-style slices and pizzas along with salads and appetizers like garlic knots and hot wings plus beer and wine.
“We’ve worked incredibly hard to perfect our pies,” Holzman said in a statement. “Nothing that we started with looks the same, because we’re constantly learning and improving. And now more than ever, the quality of the pizza speaks for itself.”
The menu features pies like cheese, pepperoni, and White Pie with ‘”shrooms,” made with three-day cold-fermented dough.
The 1,950-square-foot space meanwhile sports red, white and green tile walls, wood tables with booths, communal seating, neon pizza slice lights suspended from the ceilings and walls adorned with photos of classic NYC pizza storefronts plus a pair of old-school arcade games.
“We’re expanding because we have a team of genuinely great, hardworking people who are growing and want to keep pushing. Every day they show up and make something better than what came before. Woodland Hills is a chance to bring that dedication to a new neighborhood,” Holzman’s statement said.
