A stroll on Colorado Boulevard is often known as a thing of Rose Parade lore. But there’s another chance upcoming, not just for marching bands and floats: The city of Pasadena announced on Friday that CicLAvia Pasadena is set for Sunday, Nov. 15.
The Open Streets event, in partnership with the nonprofit CicLAvia, offers a rare chance to walk, bike, roll, and stroll on the iconic street, unfettered by vehicle traffic – bcause there will be none. A stretch of the boulevard will become car-free public space, with connections to the Metro A Line Memorial Park station.
The event highlights Pasadena’s local businesses, cultural amenities, community hubs with activities, information booths, and local programming, organizers said.
It’s free, non-ticketed, and partially funded by Los Angeles Metro.
While CicLAvia events happen all over the county, it’s been a while since the last one in Pasadena.
The city and CicLAvia last hosted an Open Streets event more than 10 years ago in May 2015.
Organizers said the Old Pasadena Management District and Playhouse Village Association have expressed support for the event.
