No change in Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers’ status for Sunday vs. Bears as team travels to Chicago

The Steelers had no update on quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ status Saturday, leaving him questionable to play Sunday at the Bears. Teams are required to make it public if a player doesn’t travel for a game, and there was no notice on Rodgers as the Steelers flew to Chicago.

Rodgers, 41, was limited in practice Thursday and Friday and designated questionable for the Bears game because of a small fracture in his non-throwing wrist. He worked with a brace during practice, and he and coach Mike Tomlin indicated he could play if the brace could protect him and he was able to function while wearing it.

It likely would be his final game at Soldier Field, where he hasn’t played since 2022 with the Packers. Rodgers has said he’s “pretty sure” this will be his final season.

In 18 seasons as Packers quarterback, he went 25-5 against the Bears, including the playoffs. He threw 64 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions in those games and posted a 107.3 passer rating.

While he has thrown more interceptions and put up fewer yards this season, Rodgers remains one of the more efficient quarterbacks in the league with a 66.4 completion percentage and a 97.7 passer rating.
