World Cup fever continued to spread in the Los Angeles area this week. Viewing parties, clinics and other activities were planned all over the area as the FIFA event continues all over North America, with the group round-robin play moving toward its conclusion.
In North Hollywood, L.A. City Councilman Adrin Nazarian teamed up with the YMCA, the Center for Community Well-Being and Summer Night Lights to stage “Kick It in the Park,” a free community World Cup event at the Whitsett Sports Complex on Tuesday.
The soccer party included big-screen viewings of four key matches: Portugal vs. Uzbekistan, England vs. Ghana, Panama vs. Croatia and Colombia vs. Congo DR.
