Northridge Hospital holds a holiday jam for hundreds of children
Northridge Hospital Medical Center and Northridge Hospital Foundation held their Annual Helping Hands Holiday Jam, transforming the hospital’s parking lot into Santa’s workshop for hundreds of children from low-income families.
Brian Hammel, president of Northridge Hospital Foundation, said, “Seeing the pure delight on 400 children’s faces as they met Santa and enjoyed the carnival atmosphere is the most rewarding experience. Our mission at Northridge Hospital Medical Center is to provide moments of joy and support to those who need it the most, and (the event) was a testament to the power of community, compassion, generosity, and holiday spirit.”

The event on Friday featured carnival games, arts and crafts, and a bag of gifts for each child. And the children got pictures taken with “Mr. and Mrs. Claus.”
Hammel said the event was thanks to donors, volunteers, and community partners, who helped “create lasting positive experiences for children who might otherwise miss out on the traditional holiday celebrations.”
