Evanston police found a Northwestern University professor who had been reported missing Monday, authorities said on social media Tuesday afternoon.
Police announced they had found Nina Kraus, 72, a professor in the school of communication, in Evanston and took her to a hospital around 5 p.m.
Kraus was last seen leaving for a walk from her home in the 1500 block of Ashland Avenue in Evanston Monday about 9 a.m., according to Evanston police and Northwestern. When she hadn’t returned around noon, her family called Evanston police and reported her missing.
Evanston police launched an investigation, including canvassing cameras in the area that may have captured Kraus and searching the lakefront with a drone, police Cmdr. Ryan Glew said. The search had continued into Tuesday afternoon before she was found.
