OAKLAND — The suspected driver in a 2024 head-on collision has been charged with killing another car’s passenger while being drunk behind the wheel, court records show.
Xavier Parker-Guerrero, 20, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and eight counts of drunk driving causing injury in the March 10, 2024, crash in the Oakland hills.
Police say Parker-Guerrero was driving his mom’s 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe when he swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Honda SUV, killing 25-year-old Elizabeth Aguilar Sanchez, who was riding in the Honda.
Each car had three occupants. A total of five people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said at the time.
The collision occurred around 5 a.m. on the 3400 block of Joaquin Miller Road, authorities said. Parker-Guerrero’s blood/alcohol level was allegedly measured at .116 percent, higher than the legal limit of .08.
Parker-Guerrero pleaded not guilty at an Oct. 7 court appearance and was subsequently released from jail. He has a listed address in Arizona, but was ordered to stay in Lathrop while the case is pending. A court order by Judge Michael Risher also orders Parker-Guerrero not to drink alcohol and to enroll in GPS monitoring while he’s out of jail, records show.
