
A man has died and another is missing after a boat crashed off near Portsmouth Harbour.
The collision involving an inflatable boat with a rigid bottom happened not far from Tipner just before 8pm on Thursday evening.
Police, paramedics, Coastguard crews and a helicopter were all called to the scene, with the helicopter seen hovering above the harbour.
One man, aged in his 60s and from Emsworth, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has not been identified publicly, but his family has been informed and are being supported by Hampshire Police.

Another man, in his 60s from Portsmouth, is still missing.
‘Enquiries are ongoing to locate a third person, a man in his 60s from Havant, who is still outstanding,’ police said.
A third man, in his 50s and from West Sussex, was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Police are working with the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) to try and establish the cause of the boat crash.
