One killed, two injured in traffic collision in Antioch


One person was killed and two others were seriously injured Friday night in a two-vehicle crash in Antioch, authorities said.

The collision happened at around 10:18 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 4 and Lone Tree Way before it turns into A Street, according to the Antioch Police Department.

One person, identified as a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the same vehicle were taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The people in the other vehicle were not injured and stayed at the scene.

One of the vehicles was traveling south on Lone Tree Way when it collided with the other vehicle as it was exiting eastbound State Route 4 and turning north onto Lone Tree Way, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The identity of the person killed will be released after his family is notified.
