PROVO — There will be a community open house at the Pederson Patient Tower, the newest building at the Utah Valley Hospital, on Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participants will be able to tour the new emergency room, operating rooms and some of the larger patient rooms. There will also be health screenings for adults, giveaways and refreshments offered.
Patients will be moved to the Pederson Patient Tower on Jan. 27.
This new tower is part of the Hospital Replacement Project and provides a more updated and seismically sound facility. The project is also meant to help the hospital accommodate the growing population in Utah County.
Other steps for the project include tearing down the existing East Tower, creating a Healing Garden for hospital patients, building a new laboratory area and creating a pedestrian bridge across 500 West.
The address for the Utah Valley Hospital is 1034 N. 500 W. Open house visitors are asked to park on the south side of the campus.
