Pam Bondi Told To “Come Clean” on Epstein Files by Congressman, “Stop Protecting the Men”

AG Pam Bondi

After President Trump fired Pam Bondi, the former Attorney General said she will “follow the law” when it comes to complying with the subpoena issued by House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-GA). Bondi is being called to answer questions regarding the federal government’s handling of the Epstein Files. She is scheduled to appear for a deposition on April 14.

Comer’s letter with the subpoena referred to the law passed by Congress last year mandating the DOJ release all of the files related to the Epstein investigation. The letter stated: “The Committee has questions regarding the Department of Justice’s handling of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his associates and its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.”

Oversight Committee member Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA) warned on CNN: “For those keeping track, Pam Bondi is about to be out of compliance with not one but two lawful subpoenas if she fails to show up for a sworn deposition next week. Even after being fired, she’s still legally obligated to show up. So we’ll see her soon.”

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) agreed with Lee. He wrote: “The Oversight Committee subpoena is for Pam Bondi, whether she is the Attorney General or not. Former AG Bill Barr gave testimony under oath on the Epstein files, and we look forward to hearing from Bondi in two weeks. Bondi now has an opportunity to give us the full truth.”

He added: “My message to the former Attorney General is clear: You have the opportunity to come clean. You don’t work for Donald Trump anymore. End the cover-up, and stop protecting the men who abused children and girls.”

House Democrats aren’t alone in the effort to get Bondi to follow the law and show up. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has also said Bondi is legally bound to appear. “My subpoena still stands,” Mace wrote after Trump fired Bondi from her post.

In a rare instance, Garcia agreed with Mace, writing: “Rep. Mace is 100% correct here. The subpoena she led on stands regardless. We look forward to hearing from her.”
