Panic erupts at Trump Long Island rally site after report of ‘explosive device’ just days after second assassination bid

A SECURITY scare put attendees of tonight’s rally for Donald Trump on high alert as police were forced to shut down reports of an explosive device being found inside the perimeter.

Cops confirmed there was a “suspicious occurrence” in the area of the Nassau Coliseum but that no explosive device was uncovered.

On Tuesday, a post on X from an independent journalist reported that officials had found an explosive device outside Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, New York, where Trump will hold a rally Wednesday night.

The report sparked fear among supporters who have worried for the candidate’s safety since he was shot in the head on July 13.

However, it was later reported that there was no security threat, and the police presence came from a K-9 training at a local part by a private security company, according to sources who spoke to Fox News.

The U.S. Sun contacted the Nassau County Police Department, and a spokesperson said they were called to the area around the coliseum.

However, they were unable to provide details on what was happening.

The department debunked the unverified report in a statement given to Newsweek

“We did respond to a suspicious occurrence in the vicinity of the Nassau Coliseum. However, there was no validity of an explosive device being found,” a public information officer told the outlet.

The scare came after throngs of Trump supporters gathered as early as Tuesday to celebrate the former president’s incoming rally.

Security was on high alert after Trump dodged a second assassination attempt in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday, the FBI confirmed.

Ryan Routh, the man arrested at the scene, was armed with a scoped AK-47 and positioned on the golf course where Trump was playing when he was arrested, according to cops.

And this came months after Trump was shot in the head by a deranged would-be assassin at an outdoor rally on July 13.

The bullet grazed the former president’s ear, and shooter Matthew Crooks was quickly shot and killed by security, according to officials.
