A Paramount man was sentenced to 10 months in prison for throwing pieces of cinder block at Border Patrol agents, injuring one of them, during an anti-ICE protest, federal officials said on Wednesday, July 22.
Jacob Daniel Terrazzas, 31, pleaded guilty in January to one misdemeanor count of simple assault on a federal officer and prosecutors dropped the original charge of felony assault on a federal officer.
As part of his plea deal, Terrazzas agreed to submit a handwritten apology letter to the federal officer struck by a piece of cinder block, causing his left shin to bleed, during a June 7, 2025, protest near a U.S. Homeland Security Investigations facility in Paramount.
The Border Patrol agent left to deal with the injury and later returned.
Authorities alleged Terrazzas and others threw items at Border Patrol agents for nearly three hours.
Law enforcement officials said they used less-lethal force against Terrazzas and other protesters.
