The city of Pasadena has relaunched its search for a permanent city manager after its announced hire earlier this year informed the city he would not be taking the job.
In April, a city news release announced that Riverside City Manager Mike Futrell would be filling the role left by outgoing Pasadena City Manager Miguel Márquez.
Before the employment agreement received final approval, Futrell decided to remain as Riverside’s city manager. In June, Futrell resigned from his post.
In a Friday, Sept. 11 news release, the city officials announced that Pasadena City Council had relaunched a nationwide search for a new city manager with applications being accepted through Friday, Oct. 16.
Pasadena will be working with California-based executive search firm The Byers Group.
According to the recruitment brochure, candidates should have experience as a city manager, “preferably in California,” and eight years of “progressively responsible management experience,” of which three years were at the executive level.
The base salary range for the position is listed at $380,000 to $425,000.
