Pasadena World Cup 2026 public watch party returns for Mexico-vs.-Czech Republic game

Building off the success of their first World Cup watch party, the city of Pasadena is hosting another free fútbol watch party for the Mexico vs. Czech Republic game on Wednesday, June 24.

The family-friendly event at Pasadena Civic Auditorium Plaza at 300 E. Green St. will include food trucks, themed games, a merch customization station, music and drinks for purchase.

The game starts at 6 p.m.; attendees are encouraged to represent their favorite soccer team. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

The second World Cup watch party — organized in partnership by the city and the Pasadena Center Operating Company and funded by the Los Angeles Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger — will take over the street and plaza.

“The response to our first watch party exceeded all expectations and demonstrated the power of the community coming together at the Pasadena Civic Plaza to enjoy the great sport of soccer,” CEO of PCOC Michael Ross said in a written statement announcing the second such event in the city.

Limited seating will be available; guests may bring their own chairs. The event will be wheelchair and mobility device accessible. Pets are not allowed at the event, with the exception of trained service animals.

Several conveniently located transit options are available, according to the city. Pasadena Transit Routes 10, 20, 40 and 51 will offer extended service after 8 p.m. for guests returning home after the game. Visit PasadenaTransit.net for more information. The Metro A Line also takes guests to Memorial Park Station or Del Mar, both a 10-minute walk from the watch party.

“We are thrilled to once again welcome residents and visitors to Pasadena for this exciting World Cup watch party as Mexico and Czech Republic take the field,” Mayor Victor Gordo said. “Soccer has a unique way of bringing people together across cultures, languages, and backgrounds, and Pasadena is proud to be a place where fans can gather to celebrate the spirit of the game. We look forward to another memorable evening of community, camaraderie, and world-class fútbol in our city.”
