Authorities were investigating a hit-and-run collision Wednesday in South Los Angeles where one man was killed.
The man was struck and killed around 8:47 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 69th St. and Central Ave as he was walking westbound on Central Ave. outside a crosswalk, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.
The driver of the vehicle that was heading southbound on Central Ave. did not stop to identify himself and render aid, as required by law, the LAPD said.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene, police said.
No description of the vehicle that fled or the suspect was immediately available.
Video from the scene shows a white medical examiner tent erected at the scene as police investigate the site of the collision.
Two police units were still on scene as of 1 a.m. Thursday.
